Makan Bites is a start-up online business that specialises in importing dried food goods from across South-East Asia, in particular Malaysian food and drink products, and supplying them to customers across the UK and Europe.
The dynamic lady behind the business is Cheryl Ellron-Boulter, who established the business in 2020, following a move from Malaysia to Ruskington in rural Lincolnshire. Cheryl arrived in the UK in 2020, following a 20-year banking career, and couldn’t source the family’s favourite Malaysian foods. So, Cheryl saw an opportunity and Makan Bites was born.
The Solution
Starting with 15 products, the business now stocks over 300, all available to buy online from its website. The business has grown exponentially and is looking at doubling its turnover in 2022 and 2023.
Cheryl heard about the Productivity HUBs Programme through LinkedIn and immediately signed up for the 12 hours free business support element. After meeting Gary Mumby and hearing all about the Programme, Cheryl not only signed up for a range of programme events and workshops but has taken full advantage of the mentoring support.
